Thankfully!! Thanks to this thread on NAM (which was also posted by MotoringFile) I checked my 05 car for rust. I checked my car this afternoon and found a teenie tiny spot of rust. Nothing I will complain about. Heck I don’t even think I can get a pic of it. In fact my rubber seals were on very well and there was zero water under them as reported by posters on the NAM thread. Although I bet with time and use as in other car it will happen.

So 1 year old and so far no rust. Add one to the plus column

I bought a Alta Intercooler Diverter (pics coming). I don’t know if it helps exactly yet. I have been keeping my right foot on the bench lately to save fuel. Actually doing 22-23mpg city compared to 20 in the past. I do most city driving in my normal commutes.
I ordered 2 grill badge holders to hold grill badges I bought from Toddsmods and WhiteRoofRadio. Ordered the USA flag, 15% pulley, Slow traffic to right and the WRR ones. I’ve been meaning to get these but I wanted to wait till I could get a few I really liked. So yah!!! Grill badges on the way.

Well the Owner’s Lounge says its 1 year later. Although it really is now 1 year and 1 week since I took delivery of my car.

What a year its been.

I had thought of sitting and reflecting on the long year my first year of ownership of my 05 MCSa was but I figured I’d hit some big points.

• 1 year and motored 13,000 miles. The most I have ever put on a car that was my own.

• Most of the mechanical workings of my car have been replaced (cylinder head, block, header…everything but the supercharger)
• Car was towed once.
• Replaced one tire due to a bubble. Also replaced one rim by a tire dealer due to their ignorance.
• My sister got rid of her 05 MCC for a 06 Scion TC Series 2.0 bahh
• Total time car has spent @ the dealer in it’s first year of life. 3 months…so I did 13k miles in 9months.
• 1 loaner car for 27days.
• 3 Nav OS updates v26, v26a and v27. Also 2 Nav DVDs 2-2005 and 2-2006.
• 3 pulley parties attended. 2 in Maryland and 1 in Virginia.
• Car hit a 1/4 mile in 15.1sec. I still need to go back to the track now that the car is down to a CAI and 15% pulley.
• First post on this blog. Ok, short review DONE.

My car will be 1 year old in a few days and has yet to be named. I have considered naming the car depending on its characteristics. Those being speed, handling and liking to be in peices sitting @ my local dealer.

My car needs a name. Help me out.

The tire shop called and said that they sent the wheel to 4 different shops to repair it. With no luck and turns out one shop had a fix or buy policy. So the shop bought the damaged wheel from them. Then the tire shop bought a new wheel from my dealer. Told me the wheel cost them over $300. The whole problem is matching the paint of the wheel. That it is so hard to do.

So lets see…since they couldn’t mount a tire which I paid for they then spent about $400.

Wheel…$300

Demount tire…$40

Mount tire…$40 + balance $18

Crazy huh? Do it right the first time and save yourself money people!
